Chapter One "Birth"

     I was born on March 22, 1977 at what is now Hotel Dieu-Grace Hospital in Windsor, Ontario.  

     My biological mother was told by the doctors who delivered me that I had a visual impairment.  

     My parents lived at a house on Victoria Avenue in Windsor's west end.  In that same area, my grandparents lived at a house on Hall Avenue.  

     In 1980, my father was transferred from the Crysler plant in Windsor when the plant closed.  So the family moved to Oshawa to 286 Shamrock Court.
